Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Support IPM in monitoring inventory levels to ensure adequate supply, identify risk from excess inventory.
  • Support management in adjusting inventory policies as necessary, to keep out of stock rates to a minimum
  • Partner with Assistant or associate level Category Manager to determine correct quantities for buy-ins and maintain accountability for stock turns by Brand
  • Identify trends at the SKU level through Ad-hoc analysis, point-of-sale data and reports
  • Conduct and provide analysis of key performance indicators (KPI) among product lines and vendors
  • Manage purchasing process for new and active items using rate of sale, seasonality and lead time, optimizing control of inventory expenditures
  • Monitor, identify and coordinate other internal and external inventory locations to improve supply efficiency and order fill rate
  • Foster consensus and collaboration including Product, Marketing and Planning teams
  • Responsible for contributing to profit and growth through planning, purchasing and effective inventory levels
  • Provide analysis with key performance indicators, information for decision making and alternative, actionable recommendations for inventory management by utilizing knowledge of the various software systems, database tools, and understanding of the business needs, determine surplus and vendor management strategies.
  • Participate in CFT meetings to implement creative solutions, using project management skills, ensure process and system changes occur
  • Support IPM in Creation and maintenance of SKU level demand plans by vendor/brand/SKU 
  • Provide key analysis and direction of forecasts to maximize decision making ability
  • Maintain vendor lead time score card and make changes where applicable
  • Work closely with replenishment specialist to ensure accuracy of buying, Implement training where needed
  • Support IPM in the Creation of annual plans alongside category management team and present to senior leadership
  • Maintain a forecast at a category or brand level, and understand key drivers and create actionable strategies

Mimimum Position Qualifications:

  • Ability to roll things up to a high level, but also be extremely granular in scope
  • System savvy and nimble
  • Ability to forecast, analyze, and prepare statistical data and metrics
  • Ability to manage/mine data from multiple sources to create necessary reports and databases
  • Strong Analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to extract conclusions from available data into actionable information
  • Must demonstrate expert PC skills, especially MS excel
  • Ability to create complex spreadsheets using advance formulas
  • Prior experience in SAP is preferred
  • Prior experience with planning software is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years on Demand Planning
