Position Summary:

This position is responsible for all of the inventory management functions within a CMT (Category Management Team). These supply chain functions include, but are not limited to, re-buying assortment, timely replenishment to the stores to maximize customer satisfaction and company profits, and achieve in stock goals on every day and promotional skus.

 As part of the CMT, the Replenishment Specialist is responsible for achieving or surpassing planned category performance and productivity standards such as sales, inventory, and turn. This is accomplished by managing and replenishing assortments, successfully launching new initiatives and maintaining positive vendor relationships. Track, monitor, expedite, and maintain purchase orders. Researches fill rates, lost sales, and back orders. Inventory trending and projection experience a plus.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create, manage, and track Purchase Orders  and inventory levels
  • Communication between vendors, Inventory Planning Managers, and category managers regarding all purchase order statuses (confirmation, shipping, and late issues)
  • Resolve all warehouse receiving issues over / short items
  • Work with vendors regarding over items to understand inventory implications if accept overage – negotiate potential cost savings to keep additional inventory
  • Work with vendors regarding short items to understand out of stock issues and timing – work with Sourcing team on other vendor options
  • Run weekly volatility reports to understand variance in prior forecast and analyze future forecast demand and adjust system to purchase to the current needs
  • Coordinate RTV / recall process between vendor, warehouse, AP, and legal
  • Respond to all AP / vendor issues regarding credit issues and PO payments causing shipping delays
  • Review daily Service Level reports for subpar vendor performance and understand potential opportunities surrounding vendor – communicate findings with Inventory Planning Managers and Category Managers
  • Work closely with IPM to determine upcoming promotional forecast and demand lift based on prior historical performance 

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or other related field required.
  • 1-year experience in merchandising/inventory management preferably in a retail environment, or purchasing within a large company;
  • Advanced PC experience, preferably using Windows, Word, and Excel. ERP system experience is a plus
  • Prior replenishment experience and knowledge
  • Supply chain or allocation experience preferred.
  • Ideal candidate is a self-motivated, results oriented buyer/planner who can interface with all portions of CFT (Cross functional team) to resolve problems with the warehouse.
  • Inventory trending and projection experience a plus.
