Job Summary:  This position plays a key role in the Vitacost marketing plan for maintaining and growing company revenue. Focusing on both the U.S. and key international markets, the ideal candidate will develop the strategy and lead the execution of email while managing relationships with our email service provider.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work with marketing director on planning the email strategy and is responsible for the execution of the program to grow revenue and lifecycle engagement from both marketing and transactional email
  • Maintains knowledge of email best practices including CAN-SPAM compliance, deliverability and email application
  • Develop segmentation and A/B tests to continually optimize email deliverability, open rate and clicks, revenue per email
  • Increase email sign-up and drive lead generation campaigns with historical data
  • Manages the workflow for all email developments and push notification
  • Report on campaign performance weekly to build upon findings and insights
  • Serves as the liaison between Vitacost.com and our Email Service Provider (ESP)
  • Collaborate with category management team to develop email promotions
  • Experience using dynamic content in emails, content blocks and personalized content
  • Work with IT Developers to ensure a stable connection with ESP and with BI Specialist to maintain clean customer list, new data segments
  • Manage a team of email marketing specialists
  • Analyze campaign performance and profitability across segments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in email marketing
  • BA/BS degree; concentration in marketing is a plus
  • Experience working with one or more of the larger ESPs such as Selligent, Exact Target, Experian etc.
  • Proficiency with HTML coding responsive design, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Excel; SQL and API knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience using Omniture SiteCatalyst and Google Analytics
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Management with 4+ direct reports
  • Experience with Basecamp a plus
  • Ecommerce email marketing a plus
